C.O.P. - Citizens On Patrol
Citizens on Patrol is a Non-Confrontational neighborhood patrol program. Volunteers donate their time to patrol their neighborhood while driving or walking around their neighborhood. They are trained by the Pflugerville Police Department on how to observe and report suspicious and/or criminal activity in their neighborhood.
Citizens On Patrol provides assistance to the Pflugerville Police Department by taking a part in the community with an active means to make a difference in their communities. Increased cooperation between citizens and the police officers adds to the ability to assist to the Police Department through additional observation and reporting. Residents who are interested in becoming a Citizen On Patrol would need to go through the Citizens Police Academy. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, complete an application and a background check. Visit the C.P.A. - Citizens Police Academy web page for more information.
The Police Department also offers a free Home Security Survey. This will allow members to receive a discount on home insurance.
